I was born and raised in Rhode Island. My educational certification is a Masters plus 30 credits in Special Education and Elementary Education. I am also certified in Ortan-Gillingham and Wilson Reading. I have been teaching in Exeter/West Greenwich for nearly 22 years. Presently, I teach at the Junior and Senior High School. For the past 4 years I have also been the Special Education Department Chair.
Besides academic teaching, in my early days I danced under Bertha Carr’s instruction. As I explored being a semi professional dancer I was a soloist with Myles Marsden in the New England Ballet Company. While dancing for NEB I received instruction from Madame Ana Roje and Coral Waddell, from The Bermuda School of Russian Ballet. I have also danced with the Copley Square Ballet. I have also taken dance classes from Christine Hennessy and Nancy McAuliffe. I have been a ballet instructor and on the Executive Board at Rhode Island Ballet Arts Academy. I have taught classes to all grade levels and choreographed many dances.
Personally, I have 3 children. One is working, one is in college and my 3rd will be entering her junior year of high school. |
